Account Information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and information about your daycare facility including its name, address, and contact details.

Children's Information

To provide our services, we process information about children enrolled at your facility, including names, dates of birth, attendance records, and billing information. This data is classified as special personal information under POPIA and is treated with the highest level of care.

Parent/Guardian Information

We collect parent and guardian names, email addresses, and phone numbers for communication and invoicing purposes.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with ClassNest, including pages visited, features used, and device information.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the ClassNest platform
• Process invoices and track payments
• Send notifications related to your daycare operations
• Communicate important updates about the service
• Improve and develop new features
• Comply with legal obligations

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Under POPIA, we process your personal information based on the following grounds:

• Consent: You provide consent when creating your account and using our services
• Contract: Processing is necessary to provide the services you have requested
• Legal obligation: We may process data to comply with applicable laws
• Legitimate interest: To improve our services and ensure platform security

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security practices. We use Supabase for data storage, which provides enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit.

While no system is completely secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or destruction.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Service providers: Third-party services that help us operate the platform, including Supabase (hosting and database), Resend (email delivery), and PayFast (subscription payment processing). These providers only receive the minimum data necessary to perform their function
• Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process

When you subscribe to a paid plan, PayFast processes your payment details directly. ClassNest does not receive or store your credit card or banking information. PayFast's handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policy.

7. Children's Data

We recognise the sensitive nature of children's personal information. Access to children's data is strictly limited to authorised daycare administrators. We do not use children's data for marketing purposes or share it with third parties except as necessary to provide our services.

8. Your Rights Under POPIA

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Object to the processing of your information
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by email or through a notice on the platform.
